ACCREDITATION

St. Anthony Catholic School is fully accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED) under the direction and standards established by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The Texas Education Agency, due to its ever-increasing load in the accreditation of public schools in Texas has recognized the Texas Catholic Conference as one of its official extensions in the accreditation of private schools in Texas. The Texas Catholic Conference is a federation of all Roman Catholic dioceses with cities located in the state of Texas. The TCCED coordinates and supervises the accreditation of all Catholic schools on the State of Texas by the Texas Catholic Conference Accreditation Commission.

ADMISSION POLICY

• A child should be three (3) three years of age on or before September 1 to be admitted into the PK3 program.
• A child should be four (4) four years of age on or before September 1 to be admitted into the PK4 program.
• A child should be five (5) five years of age on or before September 1 to be admitted into the Kindergarten program.
• A child should be six (6) six years of age on or before September 1 to be admitted into the first grade. Exception may be granted in a case of a child who has completed kindergarten in a different state where the entering age is lower, provided there is also a written statement from the kindergarten teacher that the child is ready for first grade. If a student is moving on from our Montessori Program, the student must have the Montessori teacher's recommendation and approval. There will be no exceptions to this policy.
• At the time of admission to Saint Anthony Catholic School, certificates of birth and Baptism, current immunization records, and Social Security Number must be presented.

Admissions of Students from Other Denominations

The non-Catholic applicant should understand, accept, and be willing to do the following:

• actively support the philosophy and goals of the school
• relate responsibly to the members of the school community whether adults or students
• attend religion classes
• attend liturgy at the school and understand the reasons for that invitation
• participate in programs of service sponsored by the school

The school does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, nationality, ethnic origin, or religion in admission policies, the administration of its educational policies, financial aid assistance, and other school administered programs.

Religion Program

The religion program at Saint Anthony Catholic School offers experience of faith, sharing, and worship through liturgy and prayer, opportunities of service, and formal instruction within the context of the Catholic Christian community. The process of catechesis leads both teacher and student to a deepening discovery to God. Knowledge of religion and living out of one's faith is ongoing. What is begun here will take a lifetime to complete. The doctrine taught, the rituals celebrated, and the faith witnessed will lay the foundations for growth into adulthood with a mature, enlivened faith. In addition, children in the second grade are prepared for Sacrament of Reconciliation and in the third grade students are prepared for the Eucharist.

Weekly Mass

All students attend a weekly Children's Mass on Friday mornings. Students are active participants in each Eucharistic Celebration as altar servers, choir members and lectors.
