Testing Week Letter to Parents

Dear Fifth Grade Parents,

Next week (March 8-12, 2010) our school will be taking the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS).  Fifth Grade will also be taking the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT).  You will soon be receiving IBTS’s “Message to Parents,” which will describe the nature and purpose of the tests.  Please ensure that students are present and on time every day next week.  It is recommended that students maintain a normal, routine lifestyle at home during the testing period, including maintaining normal bedtime hours that allow for sufficient rest and eating breakfast. 

We will be testing in the morning and will have breaks between tests.  A sign-up sheet will be posted outside of our classroom building for parents to sign-up to bring in healthy snacks (like fruit, granola bars, yogurt, etc.) and water or juice for the students next week.
