Special Education Application Resources for Private School Students: The student application sometimes uses public school language and requests identification numbers that may be confusing for private school families. The TCCB has created several resources to assist parents with understanding these parts of the application. This website will be updated when we develop new materials based on questions from the application process updates. 1. Explainer for Application Question: Does Your Child Qualify for Special Education Services in Public School: Videos and handouts in English and Spanish to assist parents in answering an important application questions which ensures accurate prioritization and access to additional funding.

 

2. How to Get an IEP: This page assists parents in obtaining their IEP. At this point in the application process, it may be too late to start the process, but if parents want to try to get their IEP finished by March 17, this page has the information to assist them with that. https://txcatholic.org/efa-how-to-get-an-iep-for-your-child/

3. New Resource: How to Verify your Private School Student’s IEP and Unique ID Number (UID): Your application to TEFA must include a student’s IEP and Texas Student Unique Identifier Number in order to access additional funds. This important handout explains how to get your IEP uploaded by your local ISD and how to obtain your child’s UID from your ISD.
